Wooden sheds vs. Plastic sheds
When building a garden shed, there is a lot of variety in the materials which can be used to construct it. Two popular materials used to construct garden sheds are wood and plastic. Knowing which material to use can often depend upon your purposes, climate and your overall preference. Taking time to consider which material would be best for your shed can ensure your overall satisfaction with it.

Plastic sheds are generally much cheaper than wood sheds. If your budget is a main concern than you might want to opt for a plastic shed. There are some disadvantages to be aware of if you do opt for the plastic model. Generally, plastic sheds are lightweight. If you live in a rather windy locale, there is a good chance that you plastic shed will not hold up very well. When purchasing a shed, many people want to be able to organize the items within the shed. In order to do this, they often affix metal hooks to the walls to capitalize on this additional space. This capability is greatly limited with a plastic shed. After all, you cannot hang things on plastic walls. Another drawback for some people is that a plastic shed generally is not as aesthetically pleasing. However, for many the cost makes the plastic shed the better option. Additionally, plastic sheds can be easily assembled and they also require very little work to maintain them.
Other people prefer wooden sheds for a variety of reasons. Overall, a wooden shed is much more aesthetically pleasing. If you want your new shed to blend in with the surroundings, wood is definitely the better option. Some wooden sheds are built from aromatic woods such as cedar or pine which provide a pleasing smell.
Another plus when choosing a wooden shed is that it is much easier to customize. Installing shelves is a breeze as they can be easily anchored into the wall. Wood also is a good choice to control humidity. Some drawbacks to choosing wood sheds are their cost, which is usually more than plastic. Also, wooden sheds need to be maintained and they can also be susceptible to both fire and pests.
